Paintball

Every year the Dauntless have an annual paintball game. Two leaders came along, Eric and Four. I was chose to be on Four's team. The other team was very confident that they were going to win. We were heading to the marsh on one of the trains. When we got to our side I realized I had to get to higher ground to see the playing field. I climbed an old ferris wheel, Four came along to help me. When we got to the top we could see the other team's flag. We started to head back down when I started to fall. I grabbed onto one of the rungs on the wheel. I was stuck. Four climbed down and turned it on. It rotated around and i jumped of, safe. Then our team split up and ran to get their flag. Paintballs started flying as we came closer, I could see the flag. I ran as fast as my legs would've let me. Then my friend Christina jumped and got the flag. We won.

Bravery Test

As a Dauntless, I always knew they did crazy stuff. I knew the jumped off moving trains. I guess i didn't realize the full extent to thier craziness. To get into thier headquarters for the first time, we all had to jump off a surrounding building into a black hole, not knowing what was at the bottom. I decided to show them who I was. I went to the edge and jumped. At the bottom was a net. People helped me out. My name was no longer Beatrice. I was Tris. The first jumper. An instructoir named Four escorted us throughout the compound. It was so insane. They had a long pathway about ten feet across that had no railing, the drop was about 30 feet into a raging river.

The Choosing Ceremony

As we walked into the building that the ceremony is to be held in, we went to the elevator just to find is was being used. So we all had to walk up the stairs. We walked our footsteps in tune of each others, when we got to the top my father held the door for everyone. I went and sat down in the long row of all the Abnegation members. At the front of the room there were five large bowls each hold a substance to repreasent that faction. Gray stone for Abnegation, water for Erudite, earth for Amity, lit coals for Dauntless, and glass for Candor. You had to cut your wrist with a knife and let your blood drip into the faction of your choice. Where you would spend the rest of your life. I watch, stunned as my brother chooses Erudite. Then I was up. I walked to the center, cut my wrist and let my blood drip into the lit coals that represnt Dauntless. I decided to leave my family, my faction. I betrayed them. Faction before blood, right?

Aptitude Testing

I knew the day was going to be tough. The aptitude it was so boring as i sat at that table with Caleb, my brother, and our neighbor Susan. They call ten names at a time. It's about 10 minutes into it when Caleb gets called. Then it's about another ten minutes and then I'm called. Super nervous, I get up and walk to the door I was called to. I have to drink a vial of clear liquid then I close my eyes. I wake up in a totally different room. There is a table with two things on it. A knife and a block of cheese. I have to choose one, but i refuse to. Then, a dog come out of a door, angry and foaming at the mouth. I crouch down to get on its level and calm down. It works, the dog disappears and the room changes. I'm in a bus. A man holds up a newspaper with a mans face on it. "Do you know this man?" He asks. He says it could save him. I lie, cross my arms and say no.
